At 9:00 a.m., on June 28, 1995, Tim went for a bike ride on the popular Maunawili trails. Tim was spending three months in Hawaii, staying at a bed and breakfast, while he visited from New York.
Tim never returned from that bike ride, and he would be reported missing three days later. Authorities found his bicycle chained to a fence near a water tower off the trail that led to Maunawili Falls.
Tim's family, including his cousin, Tea Leoni, a Hollywood actress, went to the island to search and put up posters.
Tim was never found.
Did he have an accident on the trails? Did he encounter foul play? Does he possibly not want to be found?
A popular hike near Kailua that travels along a river to its source, Maunawili Falls. The hike primarily takes place in the trees, with a few lookout points to the Ko'olaus along the way. After dealing with a few river crossings and a lot of mud, you will reach the Falls. The Falls themselves are quite impressive, with a beautiful waterfall and a pool deep enough for swimming and even cliff jumping! For those that want something extra, you can climb up the left side of the waterfall and traverse a pipe to find a secret (and broken) bridge that makes for some incredible photo opportunities. There's a lot of magic to be found at Maunawili.
When Tea was in Hawaii filming 'Jurassic Park 3', she put up a $100,000 reward to information leading to Tim.
Tim is described as a Caucasian male with greying hair. Tim was 33 years old when he vanished and would today be 62.
