On June 27, 2019, lightning struck Ricky's home in Malden, and his home caught fire. Ricky was distraught over this, and several friends came over to console him. He was offered places to stay, but Ricky refused those offers.
Around 7:00 p.m., Ricky decided to go visit a neighbor friend. He walked over to his house, but he wasn't home. His friend's wife was home and she and Ricky spoke briefly.
Ricky told her that his father was playing tricks on him, which was an odd thing for Ricky to say. Ricky's father had been deceased for several years.
She told Ricky to go home, and she'd send her husband over when he got home.
An hour later, his friend went to Ricky's home, but Ricky wasn't there.
His truck was at the house, unlocked, with his eyeglasses, medicine, hat and cigarettes inside it. His cell phone was on a chair by the patio. But there was no sign of Ricky anywhere.
Ricky Brown hasn't been seen or heard from since.
Ricky is described as a Caucasion male, standing 5'5", and weighing around 150 pounds when he was last seen. He has greying-brown hair and blue eyes. He was 60 years old, and would today be 65.
He was wearing a blue, yellow, yellow and green checked flannel shirt, a t-shirt, jeans and black sneakers.
