ON THIS DAY: Missing Beverly Ann Cummings-Federal Way, Washington

ON THIS DAY: Missing Beverly Ann Cummings-Federal Way, Washington

On July 18, 1990, Beverly had promised to babysit her granddaughter.  She also had to run a couple of errands, so she got up early to get everything done.  She left her home around 8:00 a.m. to go to the grocery store and pick up her mail at the post office.

She had to be back home by 9:00 a.m. to babysit.

But 9:00 came and went, with no signs of Beverly.  This was extremely odd, so her family went out looking for her, thinking maybe she had been in an accident.  They went to the post office, only to find out that the mail had never been picked up.

They went to the grocery store Beverly was going to stop at, but no one there had seen her either.

Beverly Cummings was soon reported as missing.

This was out of character for Beverly, and everyone was confused.  Beverly's life was going great, so no one believed that she had left on her own accord.

The mystery deepened in September when her car was found abandoned on a forest service road three and a half miles off Highway 410 in Greenwater, Washington.  This was 40 miles from her home in Federal Way.

After an investigation was conducted, it was learned that a man had found Beverly's car back in July and drove it there himself.

While there are many details of this I would like to know more about, authorities have said that this man has been cleared and is not a suspect in Beverly's disappearance.

There have been few clues in her case.

Anyone with any information on Beverly Cummings disappearance is asked to contact the King County Sheriff's Office at 206-205-7810.
